GARDEN ROOM | SHREWSBURY

“The best decision I made was asking custom garden rooms to design and build my office. From planning, right through to the design and build stage, these guys are top notch. The craftsmanship is second to none, built on time and within budget, I could not have asked for any more. Very professional service.”

Luke, Shrewsbury

The brief.

We used our Tetra design to create a multi-purpose outdoor living space that would be used as an office and chill out room.

When our client, Luke, first contacted us regarding his custom garden room, he did so with a very open mind about the design and layout options. His brief was simple one – create a comfortable and professional environment for him to run his recently formed business from.

With office space in the local area hard to find and very expensive, Luke made the decision to run his business from his home address. A bespoke garden room made perfect sense as he intended to make it a multifunctional space that doubled as not only a professional workplace, but also a chill out area for entertaining or watching sports on the big TV.

The devil’s in the details: Designing a garden room office

With the Tetra garden room style used as inspiration, we designed this outdoor space with x2 bi-fold doors and stunning cedar cladding. The structure was complete with a robust galvanised steel base.

Inside, we installed integrated blinds and added composite decking that provided a great place to sit back and relax outside. Completing the interior, we installed vinyl click flooring, fitted furniture, anthracite slatted fencing and added upgraded insulation for comfort.

Built for dual purposes.

After our initial design consultation, we suggested 3 possible design ideas for Luke to assess. The land the space was intended for was on a slope, covered in moss and it received very little daylight due to large trees surrounding the area. The challenge was to take this miserable and unused part of the garden and turn it into something special and useful!

Once the final layout and drawings had been confirmed, we supplied Luke with his installation date and all the other particulars of his build including a payment schedule, terms and conditions, a floorplan and a final sketch of our shared vision for his garden room office space.

The result.

This bespoke garden room took 8 days to install including all the finishing trades. Luke also wanted a large decked area to be added around the garden room, along with new fencing to enclose the space and complete the look of the garden. All of these extras were consulted by us, including full design and consideration for the area as a whole. We provided pricing for these prior to the build beginning so these could be installed at the same time.

The finished article? A beautiful addition to Luke’s garden that provides him with a fantastic dedicated space for his business.
