The brief.

Our client came to us wanting a garden room office that was created with a custom outdoor living space. The room was also to be multi-purpose, doubling up as a space to relax in a shed space that is attached to the garden room.

Our clients, Alex and Kate, had been mulling over having a cedar garden room for sometime but, having only recently had their house extensively renovated, the plan was to have an outdoor living space located at the very bottom of the garden. One thing they knew for sure, they wanted this to have a multi-purpose – an office, a gym, extra living space, and the all important garden storage.

The devil’s in the details: Designing a garden room office

Using our Symmetry design style, the garden room office was designed with the use of 3m bi-fold doors to allow for easy access whilst also inviting in masses of natural daylight. Cedar cladding and a galvanised steel base was used for the main structure of the custom cedar garden room. To finish, we installed integrated blinds for privacy and sun shielding, vinyl click flooring and we also provided an upgrade on the insulation – this keeps the room cool on hot days and warm on the colder days.

The result.

Installation of this cedar custom room was carried out during very challenging weather conditions. Prior to our arrival, it has been snowing for 3 days and the temperature had dipped as low as -5. At Custom Garden Rooms we love a challenge, so we put our thermals on, wrapped up warm and cracked on with the build, managing to get all walls and the roof on in just a days work. This meant we were now protected from the worst of the weather.

Thankfully the weather eased and we managed to complete the garden room in just 9 working days.
