Garden Photography Studio | Custom Garden Rooms

The brief.

For this custom garden room, we focused on designing and constructing an outdoor space that made the perfect at-home garden photography studio and home office.

Our clients, Dan and Michelle, approached us not long after moving into their new house in Hampton, London. They were looking for a multifunctional space that would be predominately used as a photography studio, with the space and flexibility to also use the room for their own retrospective jobs.

The devil’s in the details: Designing a garden photography studio

Using the Unilateral custom room style, we designed this outdoor living space with 2.6m bi-fold doors for natural lighting. The exterior was designed with part cedar cladding and part composite cladding for a bespoke finish. Inside, we installed integrated blind for privacy, vinyl click flooring and upgraded the insulation. Due to the size of the room and requirements, we also build the space to have 3 rooms, including a toilet and a store room.

As an additional extra feature, integrated speakers were added throughout so music could be enjoyed from every corner!

Built for the job.

As part of our service, we provide our clients with advice and guidance on how our customers can make the most from their outdoor space and custom garden room. For this project we provided a number of different locations which would work best, using different shapes and sizes based on the placement.

Each design option came with its own carefully thought-out floorplan so Dan and Michelle could envision themselves using the space and could make an informed decision on the best layout and design to suit their needs.

The result.

For us as a team, this custom garden room was well worth all the planning and preparation!

With a complete cedar garden room, our clients now have a functional space that gives them that all important work/life balance. Following completion of the outdoor living space, the garden has been extensively landscaped which has helped soften the building into its surrounding. We’re sure you’ll agree, the final result is truly stunning!
